Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global became an International Observer Organization of the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC). The two organizations held a signing ceremony on the margins of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s General Conference in Vienna, Austria, on 17 September 2024.
“I am pleased to welcome WiN Global as the sixth IFNEC International Observer Organization,” said IFNEC Chair Aleshia Duncan. “I look forward to working together with WiN network all around the world and IFNEC members to ensure that the future nuclear sector is inclusive, diverse and gender balanced.”
To celebrate the signing ceremony, both organisations held a special side event entitled Women in Nuclear Power Hour: Women at the Core of Nuclear Energy. This event featuredopening remarks by Chair Duncan and Melina Belinco, Vice President of WiN Global and the organization’s President-elect, as well as "lightning talks" from women leaders in the nuclear field, who shared their personal journeys, insights and experiences that exemplified growth.
